Mapungubwe mining ‘an affront to ancestors’ - The Star | IOL.co.za

Mapungubwe mining ‘an affront to ancestors’ - The Star | IOL.co.za: "The Mapungubwe National Park is not only a game reserve, but is home to the archaeological treasure of Mapungubwe, a kingdom that traded with the people of China, India, Egypt and Persia around the year 1200.

Water and Environmental Affairs Minister Edna Molewa has, however, given the go-ahead to Limpopo Coal Company, a subsidiary of Australian mining giant Coal of Africa Limited (CoAL) to resume mining at the Vele colliery, which is just 7km from Mapungubwe."
